I really wish I knew where this bowl has been!  It's clearly handmade - you can see the side seam where the metal was joined for the pot/bowl form.  Decorations were hammered into it around the upper and lower rim as well as near the base.  There have been repairs to it and you can see those patches here and there.  The straps coming up the sides have what appears to be copper rivets that were hammered in.  I see no evidence of machining on this bowl, but I am no expert!

This pot has amazing patina - not the kind that could be faked.  I have no idea how it was used, but it appears that it was in fire or coals at the base.  As I say, I would love to know its history.

The pot opening at the top is 9" across. It is 10" across at the widest point and stands about 5 1/4" tall.  This is a great and authentic item.  I am calling it vintage because I don't know its age, but would be surprised if it isn't older/antique.
