This is an antique Prestey’s Tidal Stream Indicator, Patent No. 12502, dated 1899.
Originally used for maritime navigation, this brass instrument shows tidal streams for Dover and Liverpool.
It features a glass dial with both red and black markings, housed in a round brass case with a hanging loop at the top.
