Here is a very unusual lens which I have not been able to find any real information about. It is a Dallmeyer Triple Achromatic Lens and is quite large with an approx 11.5" focal length. What is so interesting about the lens is it is an f3.5 lens. Dallmeyer's Triple Achromatic Lenses were f10 so this one is a real quandry. My guess is maybe it was a prototype or more likely a special order lens probably made around the turn of the 1900's as there is no serial number on the body. I do see a reference to a f4 version of the Triple Achromatic Lens but this is f3.5. The front glass diameter is approx 3.3 inches. I tested the lens out and it did cover 8x10. The diaphram works fine and turns easily. The F stop goes from F18, 12.5, 9, 6.3, 4.5, 3.5. The glass does show some wear and internally in the front lens group there are two pieces of debris inside which look like paint flecks from the edge. They do not move when I shake the lens. The lens has its flange so is all ready for mounting on your camera. A truly unusual lens and if anyone has info about it I would love to learn more about it as I've had it for years and found nothing. The flange has a diameter of 4.9 inches and the lens has a weight of 3 lb 7 oz. It is being sold "as-is". A rare chance to get maybe a one of a kind Dallmeyer lens.
