Artists of the day agreed to give their time for free and record a track on Monday, 4th September 1995 in available studios, for an album that would be in the shops by the following Friday. Masters were flown to Blackburn for pressing and to Holland for cassette. production. Within a day of going on sale, 71,000 copies were sold and almost £2m was raised for War Child within three days. This album was compiled and released so swiftly that there was no time for track listings and artist's credits to appear on the work. Some artists are referred to in the sleeve notes, written by Tony Crean & Andy Macdonald of Go!Disc on 24/08/95, with additional notes by Nirvana guitarist Krist Novoselic.
