RARE & UNUSUAL 1/6 PLATE DAGUERREOTYPE - COPY OF TWO 1840'S PLATES IN NICE CASE - You are considering a rare copy plate taken of two individual plates placed side-by-side behind a mat. By the still of clothing this couple were wearing, we can judge the originals were taken in the 1840's. The copy was later made by an operator named, H.K. Stratford in Worchester, Mass sometime around 1852. The image is held in a Boston style push-button case with a super rare solid green pillow that I have never seen before. Good luck to all my clientele winning this well done copy image by a known operator.
CONDITION: Please view my detailed photos for the actual condition of the image and as part of my description. The sixth plate came to me resealed with P90 archival tape and fitted with a new sdheet of glass. The image excellent condition. The sixth plate has nice contrast for a copy image and sharply capturing both portraits. The case as I mentioned above is the only Boston push-button case I have ever seen with a solid green pillow, the working closure system and both metal hinges intact. The exterior of the case has some definite wear, but seem stable. I will ship this item to the winning bidder carefully packaged by Priority Mail.
