The decals are the new wave of UV DTF printing technology an alternative to waterslide or Vinly decals. These have really nice with bit raised rounded appearance that can be installed right on top of clear coat and it'll still look good but it can be topcoated too. The raised look under clear coat will make it appear even better like some guitar manufacturers use this technique. It's impossible to make these with vinyl due to the tiny details and some builders don't like to work with waterslide decals. Plus these are bullet proof, they stick really well and are scratch resistant on their own.
You can top coat these but you can just install them without any top coat. Use water based top coats if you have to
I would stay away form nitro until I test them myself.
