Multiple zippered pockets - the front has one open pocket.  There are 3 center zipper pockets:  1-open pocket, 2-one zip, two open pockets, and 4 pen / pencil holders, 3-two open pockets with a padded divider for a laptop.  Also, two side pockets, one for a drink and the other an open pocket.  There is also one zippered pocket located on the top of the backpack for glasses.

Approximate measurements:  19 inches high, 17 inches wide across the middle, and 8 inches deep across the bottom.
