Large size vintage Artid picture button. Pictorial of a Thai Goddess or Princess with elaborate headdress in deep wine red on white. Backmarked: Artid and Made in England.

Artid buttons were made by the British Artid Plastic Company during the late 1940s, specifically in 1946. Buttons are made of amino resin, a thermoset synthetic polymer. Many of their designs were inspired by Asian cultures, including Thailand... with depictions of Thai musicians, princesses and other cultural representations associated with traditional art, religion and folklore.
