Description
This is a veteran but still presentable, circulated, "Un Peso" note from Mexico. It is dated August 20, 1958 and is from Series HC, (HC-HL used for this date). It was the third of eleven different dates of this specific variety with “Mexico D. F.” printed above the date at left.
This long enduring "Aztec Calendar Stone and Independence Monument" type was the first One Peso design used by the "Banco de Mexico". It first appeared with the issue of 1936 but those early Series, A through F, did not have a date printed on them. There were 5 varieties of the first type and only the last carried the date.
April 14, 1943 is oldest date found on these. The basic design was printed again and again with later dates each time until this design finally ended with the July 22, 1970 issue. A total issue period of 36 years. The last issue used Serie BIP.
"Standard Catalog of World Paper Money" (General Issues 1368-1960) by Albert Pick. #59d.

Face: SERIE HC (HC-HL used for this date). • Z100670 • 20-VIII-58 • Black on multicolor underprint. • Aztec calendar stone. • Printed by the American Bank Note Company.

Back: Independence Monument.
The Note: A circulated note, it saw some hands and earned its appearance. It has no edge or body tears and no pinholes. The note will be sent in a new currency holder that protects it. As grading is subjective, please see the pictures and judge for yourself.
