The MCM Japanese faience hand painted bird & scrolls wall pocket is a vintage vase or planter made of clay with a faience tin glaze. Featuring a bird and scroll pattern in cream, yellow, burgundy, and green colors, this original piece reflects the Mid-Century Modern style. Hand painted with an Italian look, this pottery is decorative and embodies the unique craftsmanship and aesthetics of the 1960s era. It is marked "made in Japan".


No nicks, chips, or cracks. There is some age crazing, but is not noticeable unless the wall pocket is picked up and scrutinized.  No scratches or gouges. No missing or worn paint. No glued repairs or restoration.  It measures approximately 6 5/8" in height and approximately 4" in width. It was found at an estate sale.
