Meitetsu 7000 Series Panorama Car
The Nagoya Railroad 7000 Series is a limited express train developed based on the SR (Super Romance Car) cars such as the 5000 Series in order to compete with other transportation services.
The biggest feature of this series is that the driver's cab is moved to the roof and the front of the train is equipped with the first full-view seats in Japan, allowing passengers to enjoy unprecedented dynamic scenery from the windows.
Since its introduction in June 1961, 116 cars have been manufactured over 10 years, and they are affectionately known as "Panorama Cars."
Between 1983 and 1988, special maintenance was carried out on 42 cars of the first and second batches and some of the third batches, including repairs to the car body, filling in the end windows, and converting the front direction sign to an electric direction sign.
The 7th, 9th, and 13th trains are six-car formations in which two 9th-batch cars are attached to the middle of a specially maintained 2nd-batch car, allowing you to enjoy the difference in shape between the electric direction signs mounted high up and the 2nd-batch cars' small distributed cooler TAC-15T2 and FS335 bogies, and the 9th-batch cars' large distributed cooler RPU2208 and FS384 bogies and double-door doors.
