This is a Martin 'Indiana Deluxe' alto saxophone, from around the 1930's.
There was not a great difference between the top range Martins and the earlier Indiana models,
and this is such an example.
It is a model based on the 'Handcraft' series, and in particular, the 'Committee1' model,
which also has the ergonomic LH thumbrest, and the adjustable RH thumbrest.
This example is in incredible condition, and has been serviced and plays very well.
Martins are particularly known for the sweetness of their tone,(See Steven Howard's reviews in this regard)
are a joy to play, and this example is no exception.
For an old horn, this has not been overused, and was in the possession of a man who never got around to playing,
so is something of a 'loft find'.
This comes with a Hiscox lockable hard case, and is ready for playing.
