Fantastic book about the legendary bassist, vocalist and composer John Wetton, full of insight into his work with progressive rock leading lights King Crimson during what many consider to be their prime (mid-1970s) period, his AOR superstardom in Asia, and Wetton’s subsequent solo work.
I’m not ashamed to say I’m a prog rock fanatic, and have a huge collection of books on the subject. This is my spare copy, totally brand new, mint condition, still in original shrink-wrap, and it’s apparently pretty hard to get hold of. Hardcover, published by Rocket88, and just to be clear it’s the regular version with the white cover, rather than the “special” version, though the only difference I can see is that the allegedly “special” version has a black cover and is signed, but not by Wetton, just his wife and son!!! Makes me think I should try try listing a Rick Wakeman biography I own that’s signed by the son of his cousin’s dentist ;)
I’m selling a lot of things at the moment so do check out my other items, happy to investigate combined postage if you buy a few bits at once, depending on the cost (sometimes due to item values it’s simply cheaper to send as two separate parcels….modern world eh?!?!)
I tend to use Yodel or Royal Mail's 'Tracked 48' service. Keep in mind Tracked 48 does not guarantee delivery in 48 hours and their compensation offer is a scam; the service can be very erratic, with some items I've posted arriving within 24 hours and others going missing for nearly a month. Can also send via more expensive tracked and recorded options if you want to avoid any potential drama, just get in touch first as eBay have removed the option for private sellers to offer a variety of postage methods, hoping to monopolise postage. I’ve not had any issues sending things second class recently but I'd recommend using the 2nd class recorded option if you want peace of mind or you're unwilling to accept the potential for delays and uncompensated loss.
I use recycled packaging to reduce environmental impact, but wrap everything up tight so it's safe and secure (I've got impeccable feedback, I look after my customers and pride myself on posting things quickly and securely, I’m a collector myself so always try to take the same care as I'd expect to be taken for anything I purchase), and generally send items the same day as I receive payment. My postage prices include any relevant insurance cover for expensive items, and the cost of time and fuel to get to the post office, as I live out in the middle of Dartmoor so it's a bit of a trek to reach civilisation! Don’t give me bad feedback for postage costs: I’ve explained what the costs have to cover, if you don’t like the postage price then don’t buy! Any questions just let me know.
PS I've dealt with some proper morons recently...if you aren't sure if the product is right for you (it’s a hardcover copy of the book John Wetton: An Extraordinary Life, unopened, in mint condition), or you're not actually sure what colour/size the item is (did I mention it’s a hardcover copy of the book John Wetton: An Extraordinary Life, unopened, in mint condition!!!), then either get in touch with me first for further details, or just don't buy! :)
PPS if you or anyone you know likes a bit of progressive alt-rock/grunge/power-pop then check out my solo album on bandcamp (I know, shameless self-promotion!!!)
H tea tee pea ess colon double slash thezenndiagram.bandcampDOTCOM/album/a-guide-to-making-music-from-your-money (eBay won’t let me put a direct link here as they claim it’s a violation of their policy to prevent me selling this book anywhere but on eBay, though the link clearly isn’t trying to sell the book or do any harm so I don’t see what the problem is, it’s just another example of power-hungry digi-monopolists rolling out AI algorithms that have no understanding of nuance or intent….this is the dystopian future we’re happily sauntering into: technological-feudalism, but at least it gives me plenty of fuel for songwriting!
