This is a vintage military airplane directional gyroscopic indicator Type V-8 that I found at a Seattle area estate sale. It is a 1962 Carruth Industries USA cockpit aircraft Gyro Magnetic Compass USAF Type V-8 (see pictures). The compass gauge is in excellent new condition, unused with Certification Tag still attached dated 1962, Vietnam era (see pictures).
