CLAMP is an all-female Japanese manga artist group, consisting of leader and writer Nanase Ohkawa from Osaka, and three artists whose roles shift for each series: Mokona, Tsubaki Nekoi, and Satsuki Igarashi from Kyoto. 

CLAMP's work is characterized by a highly detailed sh?jo art style that draws you in with its beauty before hitting you with something deeply emotional. The four members each have defined roles ? one writes the story, one leads character design, one handles layout. Art is always the result of deliberate collaboration. 

Their fondness for elaborate, beautiful costumes is a defining signature. They dress characters not just for aesthetics but to reflect personality and emotional state ? every ribbon, every silhouette is intentional. 

If the 90s were CLAMP at their most visually maximal ? ornate baroque armors, intricate fantasy detail ? then the early 2000s saw them embrace minimalism.
