Here's an early 1800s original solid brass mortar & pestle that came from an 1840s Illinois drugstore in Jacksonville, IL....It has no embossing....3 1/2"tall x 3 3/4"across the flared rim....solid brass original pestle is 4 1/2"long....One small old worn hole in the side of mortar; no other damage. Normal old wear from use.....I've had this in my collection for several years.
