Vtg Midcentury Gainey Pottery Architectural 8.5" AC-8 Matte Gray Planter #2
Terrific vintage 1970s era approx 8.5" tall and 8" dia classic architectural cylinder pottery planter with a matte gray glaze. Model number AC-8 and very light partial impressed mark. Made in La Verne California by renowned and now shuttered Gainey Ceramics. Eternally modernist patio pottery perfect for your space age midcentury ATOMIC Ranch home. Gainey Ceramics ceased production of the pottery lines in early 2013 and these classic pots are now collectors items available only in the secondary market. Fresh from a fine old Denver estate, and offered with No Reserve.
Condition is as pictured, very good to excellent overall, showing use and light surface scuffs to surface. Typical manufacturing irregularities to glaze. Some light hard water rings, minimal crazing, and soil stains to interior. No chips, cracks, repairs, or other damage. There is a rusty line to interior where there was a glaze ridge which has been knocked down, originally thought this was a crack but under black light is not a crack, and holds water.
