Planting Instructions: - Before planting, outside temperature needs to be at a minimum of 45°F at night and 70°F in daytime.
- Choose a location with well-drained soil. Loosen soil prior to planting.
- Dig a hole in loosened soil 2 to 4 times the size of the bulb (about 6" deep). Place bulb with the blunt side facing down and any sprouts facing up.
- Plant Elephant ear bulbs so the top of the bulb is about 1-2" below the soil surface and each bulb about 12-24" apart.
- Cover with soil and water well so that the soil above the bulbs settles. Keep soil moist during periods of dry weather but do not overwater.
*Elephant Ears will start growing once the soil temperature reaches 65°F or warmer. In cooler climates (zones 3-8), Elephant ears will grow as an annual.
