This Antique Figural Huehuetéotl Earthenware Effigy Vessel is a captivating blend of ancient Aztec culture and funerary arts. Featuring the vistage of the Aztec "Old God" Huehuetéotl, the fire god depicted in red earthen pottery. With its sturdy, cylindrical shape and wide opening, the vessel would have been used in Mesoamerican funeral rites, possibly as a temporary container for the soul of the dead.
