STONE
• Gemstone: Genuine Sodalite (Natural & Untreated)
• Color: A deep, earthy denim blue with natural white and grey mottling.
• Luster: Polished to a smooth, matte-to-sub-vitreous sheen that highlights the stone's organic texture.
BACKGROUND / HISTORY / CULTURE
• Sodalite Symbolism: Often referred to as the "Poet's Stone," sodalite has been used in jewelry for centuries. It is traditionally associated with logic, intuition, and emotional balance.
• The 1980s Natural Stone Trend: During the 1980s, there was a significant movement toward incorporating natural semi-precious stones into everyday "mix-and-match" jewelry. These small charms were designed to be versatile—easily added to charm bracelets, minimalist necklaces, or even modified into drop earrings.
• Versatility in Craft: These NOS pieces represent the high-quality components produced for the 1980s jewelry-making market, offering a durability and color depth that modern synthetic alternatives often lack.
