Moving between continents one realises the amount of stuff collected over a lifetime. I really need to lighten the load, while I may part with the objects, the memories of many happy hours spent collecting them will remain forever.

These bivalves were collected over the course of two decades from the classic Eocene site of Highcliffe / Barton on Sea along the southern coast of the UK, from the Barton Clay Formation. Unfortunately with the newly built sea defences the site is becoming less and less productive, many of the rarer species are now very hard to find. I am selling the collection species by species, so if someone needs to fill any gaps in their collection this might be a good opportunity.

FREE SHIPPING for additional items up to 500g. Please place all items into the shopping cart, shipping discount will show at checkout.

NOTICE TO US BUYERS: Due to the introduced tariff regime I can only ship with Royal Mail from the UK as small packet (up to 500g), shipping costs reflect this. Other international buyers may receive with international mail at letter rate.

This lot:

Protula extensa
(Solander 1766)

Serpulid worm tube fragments occur throughout the Barton Beds, however finding one of this length complete is exceptional. This specimen was collected in three pieces and repaired. At 89mm is far larger than any museum specimen I'm aware of.
