Notes: This show-accurate figure recreates the scene from the pilot episode when Robin, Aqualad, and Kid Flash discover the mysterious Project Kr, where The Light has commissioned “The Weapon.” Using Superman’s DNA – without his knowledge or consent – Cadmus has force-grown the Superboy, using telepathic Genomorph-Gnomes to make a virtual slave of Superman’s son. The cloning tank includes Superboy plus 3 telepathic Genomorph-Gnomes, and with the press of a button, the inside of the cloning tank lights emitting a blue glow.

Project Kr

Project Kr was a project run by Cadmus with the intention of cloning Superman. The product of this project was Superboy, whom Cadmus intended to replace Superman if he ever died or "turned from the Light". Superboy himself is sometimes referred to as "Project Kr" or "the weapon" by Cadmus staff, such as Mark Desmond.

Superboy was telepathically controlled and educated by three G-Gnomes that lived with him in his pod. He was fed yellow sun radiation by a solar suit. On July 4, 16 weeks after Superboy's creation, Superboy was released by Robin, Aqualad and Kid Flash. Project Kr was exposed and presumably dismantled.

The predecessor to Project Kr was Project Match, which was regarded as a failure since it produced the more powerful but more erratic and uncontrollable clone, Match.  Kr is the atomic symbol for the element krypton.
