Arboretum Carpentry makes hand crafted, unique home creations in Pembrokeshire, UK.

This is our original chopping board, crafted from Solid Oak and Spalted Ash. Our timber all comes from naturally storm-felled trees in Pembrokeshire, and is conditioned by nature to create superb stability and an eye-catching appearance.

This chopping & serving board is our standard size version (30cm x 23cm x 2cm) for general use in the kitchen as a chopping board, bread board and serving board, and for outdoor use such as barbeques. It features Spalted Ash laminated down the centre and edges, creating a unique pearlescent quality. 

It is an entirely natural product, and we don't use any plastics or lacquers. We use premium water-safe food-contact approved adhesive to make these boards entirely food safe, and ensure they last for years in your home.

This board is treated with pure Tung oil (extracted from the nut of the Vernicia fordii tree), and finished in pure British Beeswax. We also offer the board without the Beeswax finish for Vegans (this doesn't affect the protection of the board, as the Beeswax is for the sheen only).

What is Spalted Ash? This is a rare feature in Ash in which develops during seasoning after the wood's life has ended. The visual result is a beautiful wave of colour running through the wood which gives it a totally unique appearance, that will never be replicated in another piece of wood. We season our own Ash in exactly the right conditions to develop this natural effect, so the boards that leave us are totally unique.

Care: Wipe with a damp cloth only, and please don't put it in the dishwasher!
