The Times History of the War in South Africa 1899 – 1900, edited overall by L.S. Amery and published by Sampson, Low, Marston & Co., London, in seven volumes between 1900 and 1909. 

All volumes have a number of  tissue protected photogravure plates and half tone reproductions (including 5 with frontispieces), and a map or maps in a folder or fold out within, or at the end of the contents; all as called for except 1 map is lacking..    

Vol. 1 (1900)  has 392pp, 19 plates, 2 half tone and a map within a folder on the front pastedown ; Vol. 2 (1902) has 467pp, 17 plates and 15 fold out maps; vol. 3 (1905) has 597pp, 14 plates, 3 half tone and 16 fold out maps; vol. 4 (1906) has 597pp, 17 plates, 17 maps and plans and 2 maps in separate pockets to the front and back pastedowns; vol. 5 (1907) has 614pp including appendices, 10 plates, 27 maps and plans and 2 of 3 (less Orange Free State) maps in separate pockets to the front and back pastedowns; vol. 6 (1909) has 622pp and 6 plates; vol. 7 (1909) contains the index to the set within 209pp.

 The contents are generally good, with some spotting to the end papers and occasionally, some tissues with creasing/blemishes, some of the maps with a little corner/edge creasing, vol. 1 stamped Royal Naval War Library to the front pocket, and the covers with some knocking, fading, wear and the top middle of the spine to vol. 1 with damage & loss. 7.300
