Here's a late production Qualitone battery radio sold out of Sioux City Iowa in the early 1920's. It was likely assembled by Tri-City Radio Electric Supply in Davenport IA, who made similarly configured exposed tube regenerative radios for Beckley Ralston, Telmaco, Atchison Electric and Crosley.
Condition is excellent, and -- as you can see in the video I've posted -- the radio still works. In fact, it works surprisingly well, tuning several stations in mid-afternoon, and many more at night.
Comes with a boxed brass, tipped UV-201 Radiotron tube that appears to be New Old Stock.
Radio has a perfect panel, with no chips or scratches. Gleaming binding post assemblies. Dials turn easily, and the nomenclature is crisp and original.
Clean chassis, straight wiring, original components throughout.
With the tube installed, the radio measures approximately 8" wide x 7" deep x 9" high. Shipping weight, properly packed, will be about 8 lb.
In the video above, the radio is connected to a Brown mechanical amplifier and a vintage horn speaker. Only the radio and the boxed Radiotron are included.
