*NOTE TO EBAY - THESE BOXES ARE EMPTY AND DO NOT CONTAIN ANY RERSTRICTED AMMUNITION COMPONENTS*

Up for your consideration is a set of three empty reproduction WWII-era .45 AUTOMATIC and M1911 ammunition cartons, with a WESTERN CARTRIDGE COMPANY (WCC) label.

Between WWI and WWII, Frankford Arsenal was the primary military small arms ammunition supplier, with the other manufacturers supplying commercial ammunition for civilian use. Then, in the build-up to WWII, contracts were once again given to the commercial manufacturers to help fill increasing demand by the military. Western Cartridge Company received the first contract for 50 million rounds in mid 1940, followed by Remington Arms Company with a contract for 71 million rounds.. These were called "educational contracts" and the cartridges produced were packed in commercial 50 round cartons with lot numbers applied at the plant. The first official military contracts were let in 1941, with the rounds packed in the standard 20 round cartons with ordnance labels. From 1942 to 1944, Evansville produced the majority of M1911 cartridges. By 1945, both Remington and Western increased production of Cal. .45 cartridges once more, packing them in the standard 50 round military contract carton.

Each "Buy It Now" single purchase is for three unassembled cartons with Western Cartridge Co. (WCC) labels. The cartons will be shipped flat, with assembly instructions. I had a lot of these made, so if you want multiple sets, just change the purchase quantity before you click on the "Buy It Now" button.
