Biete ein gebrauchtes Compaq Deskpro XE 486 Mainboard Nummer 194445-001 mit einem 486SX Prozessor mit 25 MHz und 8 MB RAM. Das Mainboard konnte von Diskette booten und hat im Test mit Checkit einwandfrei funktioniert  - siehe Fotos. Auf dem Mainboard ist der "berüchtigte" RTC-Chip DS1397 verbaut (netterweise gesockelt), der die (natürlich mittlerweile leere) BIOS-Batterie enthält und den es neu nicht mehr zu kaufen gibt. Der Chip müsste gegen einen funktionierenden Ersatz ausgetauscht oder umgearbeitet werden, wenn man nicht jedes mal das BIOS-Setup neu laden will - im Netz gibt es einige Anleitungen dazu, wie man den Chip anfräsen, die alte interne Batterie abklemmen und eine neue Knopfzelle anschließen kann. Weiterhin muss man sich noch die Compaq Setup Disketten besorgen, da bei diesen Mainboards das BIOS-Setup-Menp nicht im ROM vorhanden ist sondern von Diskette geladen werden muss. Mangels passender Disketten konnte ich das Setup nicht aufrufen und deshalb meldet der Rechner widersprüchliche Angaben bezüglich des vorhandenen RAM-Speichers an Checkit - getestet wurden aber die kompletten 8 MB. Auch konnte der Mausport zum Testen deshalb nicht aktiviert werden, während serieller und paralleler Port mit entsprechenden Loopback-Adapter getestet wurden. Der IDE-Port konnte ebenfalls nicht getestet werden, da ich mangels BIOS-Setup keine Plattengeometrie eintragen konnte..

International buyers are welcome: offering a used Compad Deskpro XE 486 main board no. 194445-001 with a 486SX processor running at 25 MHz and 8 MB of RAM. The main board could boot from floppy disk and worked well during the test with Checkit  - see photos. The main board is equipped with the notorious RTC chip DS1397 (in a socket for easy exchange), which contains the (of course meanwhile empty) BIOS battery and which can't be bought new any more. This chip has to be exchanged against a working replacement or reworked, if you don't want to have to load the BIOS setup on every boot - you can find instructions on the web on how to cut the old internal battery and mount a new button battery instead. Furthermore, you'll have to get suitable Compaq setup floppy disks as the BIOS setup menu for these mainboards is not in ROM but has to be loaded from a disk. As I don't have such a disk I couldn't enter the setup an therefore the computer is reporting inconsistent figures regarding the available RAM to Checkit - but the whole 8 MB have been tested. Also due to that, the mouse port couldn't be activated and tested while the serial and parallel ports could be tested with suitable loopback adapters. Similar, the IDE port could also not been tested as I couldn't enter a disk geometry due to the lack of a BIOS setup disk..
