US Army Holder Navigational Chart & Emergency Cockpit Light Helicopter Pilot

This came from a US Military pilots' estate.

B. Karl, He was in the 716th Bomb Squadron.
 It was last assigned to the 449th Bombardment Wing at Kincheloe Air Base, Michigan, Michigan, where it was inactivated on 30 September 1977.

This squadron was  active in WWII, and was deactivated in 1946.

The squadron was reactivated by SAC at Kincheloe in 1963 and served with Boeing B-52 Stratofortress  aircraft until inactivating.

The unit was reactivated in the very early stages of the start of  Vietnam War. It was part of the  449th Bombardment Wing, 1 February 1963 – 30 September 1977.


This would strap to the pilots' leg.

Dimensions:

Approx 11 1/2"  by 6 5/8" wide(includes the  knob on the one side of the unit)

Overall nice condition, not sure if light works. Has three blank chart pages.
