WHAT SETS ECU SAVER APART FROM OTHER EBAY SELLERS...?

- We write your original ISN to the replacement DME, NOT your CAS module! When writing the donor DME ISN to your CAS module, you overwrite your original ISN number, meaning if you or a future owner lose all of your keys and have to purchase from the dealer, you will have to replace the DME, CAS, and keys together costing thousands of dollars. Also if your CAS module fails, a new module cannot be ordered from BMW!

- We manually change the UIF1 registry so that the first VIN in the DME's registry will show your true VIN! This is critical if you have MHD Tuner or if you have to smog the vehicle at emissions testing facility. When using MHD Tuner or testing the DME with emissions equipment, this is the VIN that will be pulled, NOT the most recent VIN that was flashed or coded to the DME. The industry standard is to only code the DME using your CAS and key, this is not enough! 

- We start with the correct base file for your exact chassis, transmission type, and AWD or RWD! Most eBay sellers will only flash your VIN to the MSD81 and leave the original programming inside the donor MSD81 which could be from a completely different chassis and transmission type or AWD vs RWD, etc. 

- We manually code your DME using BMW Engineering Software, ensuring that the coding protocol is correct for your vehicle. If this is not done, you can have major problems when trying to flash your DME with MHD Tuner and the flashing will crash, bricking your DME and you will not know why! 

- Working hours are reset in the new MSD81 DME to ensure you do not have a no start condition and a fault code for 2FA4 - Incorrect Data Record, this occurs when the working hours are higher in the MSD81 DME than the original DME had. 

CUSTOMERS WHO HAVE MHD TUNER - YOU MUST FLASH YOUR ORIGINAL MSD80 DME BACK TO MAP 0 (STOCK TUNE) BEFORE SHIPPING TO US! 

IF YOU HAVE A CUSTOM MHD TUNE FOR YOUR ORIGINAL MSD80 DME - THIS CANNOT BE TRANSFERRED TO YOUR NEW MSD81 DME DUE TO THE MSD80 DME FIRMWARE VERSION BEING DIFFERENT THAN MSD81, DATA IS STORED IN DIFFERENT LOCATIONS WITHIN THE DME. YOU MUST CONTACT YOUR TUNER WHO MADE THE CUSTOM TUNE FOR YOU AND EDIT IT TO WORK WITH MSD81 OR PURCHASE A NEW TUNE IF THEY WILL NOT WORK WITH YOU TO CHANGE IT.

This MSD80 to MSD81 Upgrade Service for the following years / models / series / engines: 2007-2016 / 135i 335i 335xi 535i 535xi Z4 X6 / E82 E88 E90 E91 E92 E93 E60 E89 E71 E72 / N54 L6 3.0L Turbo.


This service will transfer VIN, immobilizer, software and coding (including injector coding) to the replacement upgraded MSD81 DME. The replacement DME will be Plug n' Drive and will require no additional programming. Old keys will work. Simply install the ECU and start the car.


If your original MSD80 DME is being replaced due to no communication with the module, injector numbers will need to be read from the injectors located on top of your engine. Please contact us with any questions if you are unsure of what you need and we will gladly walk you through the steps as needed to ensure a smooth and quick turn-around! 


After purchasing this service, send in the original MSD80 DME, and replacement donor MSD81 DME, unless your original msd80 DME does not communicate, then you will also need to send us your original CAS module and original working key.
