Handmade Kilim Rug -- 7'5" x 2'3"
Ethnic Wool Area Carpet
ABOUT THIS PRODUCT
This Rug features traditional Turkmen tribe geometric organaments which are usually depicted on hand-knotted carpets. The motif also symbolizes the warm breeze of the Karakum desert.
Made from 'saryja' sheep wool in 2023 by women from western Balkan province of Turkmenistan, in Central Asia. It also features traditional ornaments.
In Central Asia, home décor items from wool have been very popular from long ago. The presence of wool in the house is believed to make the owners happy and lucky.
The peoples of the Karakum believed that sheep and camel wool hair detoxifies the body and provides the rejuvenating effect to the skin and making it firmer and softer, thus it cures various types of arthritis and neuritis, osteochondrosis and rheumatism.
Turkmen people have traditionally used this to reduce the effects of arthritis, because sheep wool is rich for lanolin content (wool fat), which is easily absorbed in the skin and has healing effects on the body.
It is particularly recommended for kids, who enjoy this material and design very much.
