This Budha reproduction piece came from a private collector. It's an original made of resin with fiberglass, hand-painted looking like metallic finish. Although it is pre-owned, it has been well-maintained and is in good condition. The sculpture is in excellent shape, just with one tinny point missing ink (see pictures), and the craftsmanship is of high quality, a must-have for buddhist religion enthusiasts and other collectors.
Buddha is the Enlightened One, a human being who has attained Nirvana, total liberation from pain. Siddharta Gautama Buddha was a prince of a kingdom in northwestern India between the 6th and 5th centuries BC, who renounced wealth and his position, undertaking a life of seeking knowledge, asceticism and renunciation. It is said that sitting in meditation under the Budhi tree he attained Enlightenment, after which he dedicated himself to transmitting the teaching about the path to the cessation of suffering, the end of the cycle of reincarnations and total liberation and fusion with the Absolute.
In Eastern art, Buddha can appear in different postures or asanas, the most common being in the lotus position, standing or lying down. A standing figure symbolizes the Buddha who attained Nirvana on his return to the world to transmit to other human beings the knowledge about the path to liberation.
