It is extremely rare to come across a book so well written and so well researched that it reads like great historical fiction, and yet is completely overlooked in the annals of historical import. Here is. "The Story of Chester", written by James Williams, the Cheshire County auditor. This book contains a plethora of information, sketches, photos and and illustrations about Chester, England from pre- history through King Edward the seventh.


It includes the fold out map, laying out the town as it were in 1572. 353 pages not including the extensive appendix.


Excellent condition. Some age tanning to pages, but is clean throughout with a tight binding. Covers show some light edge-wear such as a gouge on spine cover and rubbing to cover extremities.
