Description
This vintage gents umbrella has a cladded brown English leather crook handle, furnished with a yellow metal end.
There is a yellow metal collar with a maker's mark:
'Brigg London'
'Brigg London was one of the UK’s top walking stick and umbrella manufacturers until February 1943, when Swaine & Adeney on Piccadilly and Thomas Brigg & Sons, round the corner at 23 St James's Street decided to join forces. From 1943 until 1990 the company traded as Swaine, Adeney, Brigg & Sons Ltd'
The collar is engraved with the initials of the original owner:
'J.B.L.W.'
Cane shaft with a metal frame holding an original black nylon canopy. The metal fixings are stamped with the maker's name:
'Brigg London'
