(8) selection from the collection Important Documents on the First Plendary Session of the Chinese People's Political Consultatitive Council

All these selections are representative pieces of communist literature on various important problems, political, social, economic, military, as well as ideological.  They should be of interest to all students of Chinese affairs.  As usual, however, we are here primarily interested in their language.  Terms and expressions which cannot be easily found in dictionaries in ordinary use have all been annotated.  It is hoped that with the aid of the notes, the Chinese language student will encounter no great difficulty in reading these materials and that after finishing this volume he will understand readily the writings of any contemporary communist leader or theorist.
