for standard size 163cm guzhengs.

String 1 is the thinnest string, with highest pitch, located closest to you on a guzheng. 

String 21 is the thickest string, with lowest pitch, located farthest from you on a guzheng.

These are standard size strings for standard 163cm guzhengs. They can also be folded/cut at the tip to fit smaller guzhengs at your own preference.
