This rare antique Marlborough Club Chromolithograph features Lord Skelmersdale, in a unique and detailed  chromolithograph by artist Carlo Pellegrini from1872. In 1871, the Marlborough Club, established by the Prince of Wales and his set, commissioned Carlo Pellegrini to produce caricatures of its 400 members. He produced only twenty portraits before giving up the project in 1873, impressions of twelve of which are held by the National Portrait Gallery. 

Pellegrini is best known as the chief contributor of caricatures to Vanity Fair between 1869 and 1888 under his pseudonym ‘Ape’ or ‘Singe’. This medium-sized print showcases the theme of royalty, bowling, and tattoos from the 19th century in the Art Nouveau style. Produced in the United Kingdom using chromolithograph technique, this antique lithograph is a valuable addition to any art collection, capturing a historical and artistic moment in time.
