It’s not a Zippo no matter what might be claimed elsewhere. It is, though, a potentially fully-functional Lighter. We say “potentially” because we did not add fuel to be certain, but we verified that the important parts are present.
- The Lid closes properly and opens easily.
- The Cam moves smoothly and definitively and causes the characteristic Zippo-like snapping sound when closing the Lid because the cam Spring is strong and in-place.
- The Inside Case fits snugly and securely inside the Bottom Case.
- The Inside Case seems to be fully packed with Cotton and Felt Pad is in-place (see images).
- The Flint Spring is not bent or kinked and is firmly attacked to the Screw.
- There is a small Flint on the Spring Tip. The Flint Sparks properly when the Flint Wheel is rotated.
- There is a Wick that would benefit from trimming.
- There is s small crack in the Lid’s metal above the Hinge (see images). There is no inappropriate side-to-side looseness in the Hinge.
The case bears witness to the Lighter being well-used. The metal is discolored and marred, but some of the discoloration might be removable with proper cleaning and patience. Shiny metal is exposed when rubbing a fingernail against the dark areas of the case (see images).
I recall the click of a WWII-age Zippo and this one sounds similar enough to keep around, but like other stuff we find there’s someone who will appreciate this Lighter more than we possibly could.
We will ship the Tool by USPS Ground Advantage on the next regular business day following payment.
