Vintage 1936 Robert Treat Hotel Trophy Cup for Coiffure Artist

A really neat piece. Thanks to this trophy I now know all about the Robert Treat Hotel in Newark, NJ

Apparently there was a hair styling competition there in 1936, and this trophy was awarded.

It was found in a barn in Western Massachusetts. I have no idea the connection.

It's 10 3/4" at the top of the handles.

Except for wiping off the dust it's in as found condition. There is a bit of pitting on the handles, the brass needs a good polish, and there is a small dent on the front near the inscription.

Just a very neat, unusual piece.
