Overall the book is in excellent condition. The best example out there. The book is completely unrestored and original. This book "when found" is very notorious for having serious condition issues. Extremely rare to find one this beautiful and crisp, let alone with its original dust jacket. The dust jacket is protected with a Bro Dart transparent cover.
Disney Collins books from the 1930's are known to have very poor paper quality and are extremely brittle.
This book is also notorious for having been colored in, and this one is free from colored pages.
Most of these books when found have missing spines, missing pages etc... as they were meant for children to interactively engage with the characters. As you can see from the pictures, one example are dented cutups of postcards meant to be colored in and sent to friends. Incredibly they are still attached as originally issued. Wonderful write up "Meet Uncle Walt". This book was pretty much meant to be thorn apart by happy children!
For your viewing pleasure, many pages have been photographed. Please use the detailed pictures as reference for condition.
Wonderful fainted inscription of a name of the child who owned it on Christmas of 1936.
While the British 'Mickey Mouse Annuals' published by Odham Press from 1931 onwards are relatively easy to find today, this Silly Symphony Annual published by the London & Glasgow-based Collins Clear Type Press is a rare item. Note that the cover art includes a barely visible illustration of the Big Bad Wolf at the upper-center section.
