I’ve just dropped the price on this by a fair whack! Get your teeth in unless you’re a dentist in which case I’m frightened of you! So, believe it or not I am not a super super hero fan… but this book was one I couldn’t resist. I am a fan of books. Beautifully produced and with some incredible artwork including development sketches, this is a super book. This still has the original cellophane, but I have opened it and have flicked through the contents- the artwork is pretty phenomenal even for someone like me who tends to prefer older comic book style. A load of the new comics make me feel queasy- like being at a fairground and all the colours go squishing together too fast because they’ve been rendered on computer to whip through a deadline, or maybe because ink or paint is too expensive or difficult to use. Anyway, I digress. This is a sought after book and here it is with its’ slipcase and cute little red ribbon poking out like a little tail, it also still has its’ insert with reviews and barcode printed on. I guess the publisher didn’t want to ruin the slipcase art by printing a barcode on it- good for them I say, that goes to show an amount of respect for sure. Look, the corners are real nice on both the book and the slipcase- that’s double the amount of corner condition you’d normally have to worry about. We’re talking 16 corners in all here and they are all spiffing. This book was $99.99 American U.S. dollars when it was released. Now it’s out of print and harder to get hold of, especially in super condition like this, so I’m going to charge more than it was released at- I am sorry for that but I think it’s only fair. If you’d like to make an offer, I’ll leave that option on, and to be honest, I might accept, I guess we’re just custodians of these things for as long as we have the pleasure of looking after them… I suppose we’re a little like zoo keepers, but instead of animals, we are caring for books. In fact, that’s the first time I’ve had that thought which is surprising as I worked in libraries for around 14 years. I guess I’m a book-keeper, not like an accountant, but a ‘keeper of books’ more like. Anyhow, now I need to release some of my books back into the wild… so here it is.
