Carbide chains can also be sharpened by a professional with special equipment if you wish.

For optimum chain life I suggest you use a new bar which are available together at a discounted price for your first Tungsten chain and change your bar regularly after wearing out 4-5 Tungsten chains as the chain will move around more on a worn bar and the cutters will heat up quicker causing preventable chain damage.

Be aware that sustained contact with hard objects like rocks will do noticeable damage to the cutters on the chain.
