This listing is for a beautiful sea shell wreath. I purchased this at an estate sale and it is in very good condition. None of the shells are missing, broken or cracked. There are several types of shells included in this wreath. I purchased this wreath from the estate sale because I had previously seen an exact duplicate of this wreath at Bealls, which is a Florida-based department store chain. I had wanted one, but didn't purchase it before they were all gone! So I was delighted to find this one! I believe it is a handmade product from India.
The wreath base is heavy gauge wire (about the same weight as a wire coat hanger) which has been covered with natural color jute twine. The shells are each individually wired with fine gauge, silver-tone wire into a garland of sorts which has been twisted and twirled around the jute covered base to form an attractive sea shell wreath. Included on the wreath are clam shell pairs, small turban shells and some other very pretty ones I recognize but don't know their names. I live near several beaches in Florida and have taken the time to look up many of the shells I find while walking on the beach. Shells are my passion!
The shells are natural, neutral shades of beige, gray & brown. I have added a gingham check bow in taupe gray/white colors and a small ribbon loop for hanging. If you do not like the bow, it can easily be removed and there is a separate wire hanger already attached to the wreath from which it can be hung.
