The DS3231 is a high precision real time clock module with it's own battery so even if you lose power the time is still maintained.  This module has an operating voltage of either 3.3v or 5V and is interfaced vie the I2C bus making it an ideal addition to your Arduino, ESP32 or Raspberry Pi project.

DS3231 is a low-cost, extremely accurate I2C real-time clock (RTC), with an integrated temperature-compensated crystal oscillator (TCXO) and crystal.  The device incorporates a battery to maintain accurate timekeeping if the power is disconnected.  The RTC maintains seconds, minutes, hours, day, date, month, and year information for accurate time and date information.  A precision temperature-compensated voltage reference and comparator circuit monitors the status of VCC to detect power failures, provide a reset output, and if necessary, automatically switch to the backup power supply.

This module can be included in a variety of projects including weather stations, automation, tracking and counting type projects.
