ABOUT THE AUTHOR
Ilias Mamalakis was born in Athens. He studied economics and worked for many years as a high-ranking executive in multinational companies. After several experiences, around the age of forty he became involved in gastronomy. He has written twelve books (including a novel) with a main focus always on cooking and well-being, while he has released three CDs with recipes and fairy tales. In April 2007, he took over as editor of BBC Olive, in its Greek edition. He was the editor of the cooking insert in the "Investor's World" entitled "Delicates". He has the culinary pages of "Elle" magazine. He was for three years the main presenter of the show "In the Kitchen at Full Speed" on the Mega Channel. He was the editor-in-chief and presenter of the show "Boukia & Sychorio" which was presented on the Mega Channel. From the ET3 channel he presented a series of documentaries on the history of Greece. The first cycle presented the pre-revolutionary period and the life of Katsantonis, and the second cycle presented the life of Theodoros Kolokotronis. He participated in the theatrical performance "Delicious" at the Train on the Roof directed by Tatiana Lygari. He has designed a series of 6 different chocolates on behalf of Fresh confectioneries, one of which is with green tea and another with salt. He continues to be a consultant to the food industry on taste issues. He is a founding member of the Protagon.gr site of Stavros Theodorakis, where he publishes on issues that have nothing to do with the kitchen. He holds seminars on Greek cheese, ancient Greek cuisine, the Mediterranean diet, etc. He has radio broadcasts on Oasis (88 FM) and Difono (96.6 FM). Participates as a judge in the Greek Top Chef competition in Antenna.
