Scope of application

RT-730 Plastic Material Apparent Density Tester

RT-730 Apparent Density Tester is used for the measurement of apparent density, bulk factor, and where applicable, the pourability of plastic materials such as molding powders. It is the ideal tester for the chemical industrial and the plastic manufactory. The mass of loose material (powder or granular material) can be poured from a funnel of specified design to a unit of specified volume. The density can be gotten through the volume and the weight of materials in the unit.

JIS ASTM K-6721(1966). Bulk density the mass of loose material per unit volume, including the pores within particles and the Spaces between particles. Synonym: apparent density.

ISO Method R60

1. ISO Method R 60 differs from Test Method A in the following respects: * Funnel as shown in Fig. X1.1. * Measuring Cylinder: which differs only in that theinternal diameter is 45 + 5 mm (1.77 + 0.20 in.).'

* Mounting of the funnel is such that its lower orifice is 20 to 30 mm (0.79 to 1.18 in,) above the measuring cylinder.

2. Test Method A and ISO Method R 60 have been found to give values that difer by -0.01 to +0.03 apparent density units (g/cm? based on theaverage of five tests for each of the three materials.
