Original antique scrapbook of poetry for children : " Primary Poems '95 " Late Victorian era. Collected starting in 1895, and with the year 1897 added on the first page. " Arbor Day , Apr. 25., Sat. 1896 " is handwritten in old ink on a page toward the center of the scrapbook.

Over 125 years old.
Numerous clipped poems collected from periodicals of the late 1800s. The clipping attached to the front cover suggests that this was probably created by a school teacher , or possibly by a young mother for her own children. The poems are arranged with a holiday or seasonal theme, starting with Memorial Day , May 1895. There are a few other clippings which are not poems, as well.
