Insurance companies determine the risk of vehicle theft based on past statistics. For instance, certain BMW and Range Rover models had extremely high theft rates in 2023. As a result, some models now require an Insurance Approved Tracker installed by a Thatcham-approved installer for comprehensive insurance coverage. An S5 Insurance Approved Tracker requires the Driver of the vehicle to first prove they are the authorised Driver. The driver does this by being in possession of the Driver ID Tag at the point of turning on the ignition. The Tracking system then allows the driver to continue their journey without starting the alerting process. By Adding an Ultra Covert Tracker you are covering all bases. If your vehicle was stolen and lets say they took apart your vehicle to find the Tracker and destroy it.... Well what they are not expecting is a secondary backup tracker. 

The Ultra Backup Tracker reports twice a day into our monitoring servers. The Ultra Tracker uses 3 x AAA Lithium batteries and lasts between 2 to 5 years depending on use and conditions.

What is the Alerting Process with an S5 Insurance Approved Tracker?

If the vehicle is driver WITHOUT a Driver Tag being present and turned ON then the system will automatically call you to inform you of an incident with your vehicle. If this is a false alert and you have forgotten your Tag then you can update our UK monitoring team of this via this call. 

If your vehicle has been stolen our team will commence the recovery process directly with the Police force in your area once they have received the incident number from you speaking to the police. 

 

What if I want to buy extra Tags?

That’s not a problem. We will program a new Tag and send them directly to you. 

Whats the Difference between S7 and S5 Insurance Approved Trackers?

The S5 Tracker, once installed by an approved engineer, assures insurance companies of a higher likelihood of vehicle recovery, thus potentially reducing claims. It’s equipped with GPS tracking and is continuously monitored by our UK monitoring Team, they will liaise with the police for vehicle recovery. 

With an S7 Insurance Approved Tracker our UK monitoring team monitor if the tracker has been interfered with, the vehicle has moved without the ignition of the vehicle being turned on i.e. being towed away. 

The S5 Tracker monitors those conditions BUT it also requires a Driver ID Tag or code to be seen BEFORE the vehicle is used or the Theft Alerting and recovery process commences. This is why now more and more people are turning to the S5 Insurance Approved Tracker as a minimum standard.

This is an S5 Insurance Approved Tracker BUT with the added bonus of a covert backup Tracker hidden in the vehicle. These are small GPS Trackers that report twice a day in the unfortunate event that the thieves took your car apart and located the GPS Tracker. They will not find a small hidden box and then you have a second opportunity to recovery your vehicle. They have 3 x AAA batteries inside and last between 2 and 5 years depending on use.
