Absolutely beautiful original painting of a cat in a garden looking at a butterfly, surrounded by flowers, on a gorgeous slice of Myrtle wood by Regina (Gina) Femrite. Born in Germany, Gina was introduced to art at an early age by her father, Johann Strater, a renowned artist throughout Europe. Under her father’s tutelage, Gina began her training in different techniques and mediums before completing her art education at the Academy of Art in Saarbruecken, Germany. Gina enjoyed early success in Germany, with the showing of her paintings in several German galleries. With the guidance of her uncle, Joseph Strater, whose work is displayed in the Louvre, she developed her own style along traditional European lines. Measures approximately 9” by 8”.
