ARNOLD PALMER died September 26th, 2016 at age 87 in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.  

ARNOLD PALMER was born in Latrobe, Pennsylvania and although he traveled all over the USA and abroad, he lived most of his 87 years calling Pennsylvania his home. Married for 45 years with two children, Palmer led a public life as one of the most successful and charismatic player's in the sports history. His legion of fans and followers were known as 'ARNIE'S ARMY' and the was nicknamed 'The King'. He was golf's first superstar of the television age which began in the late 1950s. Arnie attended Wake Forest University, turned pro in 1954, had 95 wins on the PGA and PGA Senior Tour including 4 Masters wins, the US Open, The British Open Championship and dozens of Top Ten finishes throughout his storied career. PGA Player of the Year in 1960 & '62, Sports Illustrated Sportsman of the Year in 1960 and a legacy of greatness unrivaled during his active career on the links. He changed the perception of golf from an elite, upper class pastime at private clubs into a popular sport accessible to middle and working class via public courses. His career frequently crossed paths with the Golden Bear Jack Nicklaus and Gary Player, two of the games finest ever. To date he is still 5th in all-time wins on tour and is one of the original 13 members of the WORLD GOLF HALL OF FAME! After his playing career ended in 2006 he continued to be an ambassador for the sport, helped to found The Golf Channel, negotiating a deal to bring the first course to China, acting as the Masters ceremonial starter for several years, and personally designing over 300 public and private courses in the US and abroad. He authored or contributed to over a dozen books, supported charities with his time and money. He was the subject of a US Postage stamp in 2020.

This signed item is unique. It was signed in person in Pennsylvania at the 1999 Amateur Golf Championship Tournament held at the Treesdale Country Club. Signed in blue ink pen on the bottom, it has been in a private collection for the past 20+ years. IT IS NOT PERSONALIZED! 

Both sides of the 8"x10" inch photo are pictured. The front side is autographed and the reverse is blank and undamaged, as shown. The TREESDALE Country Club logo appears at the middle bottom in black and the photo shows wear throughout, chipping alongside and on Palmer's hair is most evident, as shown. The photo shows Arnie in a closeup face shot in what is likely to be a posed picture. It will be shipped carefully packaged and flat via First Class.  

This genuine Autograph comes from a friend who closed up her late- husband's Podiatry office and now she has a huge collection of books, celebrity autographs, an Elvis collection, and a coin collection in the garage of her home. This Autograph is genuine, is priced inexpensively and when this one is gone, there will be no more available. I do not use EBay stock photos, so you can be sure that you'll get the actual item pictured. The signature is pictured front and back and ready to display or add to your collection. This Genuine, Vintage AUTOGRAPHED/ HAND-SIGNED Item is fully pictured and the description is accurate but I sell everything AS-IS with the promise of a full refund if you're not completely satisfied (read my feedback!). I am putting this it up on Ebay, along with other items from my friend's former husband's collection in an effort to clear it all out and have it find a new home.
