Methylphenidone is more stable in solutions than phenidone (phenidone A)
Methylphenidone used as a developing substance in photographic developers along with hydroquinone, amidol and glycine. It can be used as a substitute for methol, however, like phenidone, it is not suitable for replacing developers, where metol is the only developing substance.
